Shiloh Hatcher, Greeley’s Forester will present on the topic. Learn what to look for on your trees. As well as, what you can do to help protect your property. To date, the pest is not in Greeley. While it’s currently found in Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont, Gunbarrell, Superior and Berthoud. These communities currently have the only known infestations in the state.
The confirmation of Emerald Ash Borer in Larimer and Boulder Counties warns of the unavoidable introduction of a new tree pest to Greeley. This infestation could adversely affect thousands of Ash trees in our community. In addition to hundreds of thousands of trees across the Front Range.
In an effort to improve the community’s response to the risk posed by the Emerald Ash Borer, the City of Greeley has implemented a Residential Ash Treatment Program. In a nutshell…you pay the City of Greeley to treat your tree(s) and the City of Greeley will hire an independent and licensed Pesticide Applicator to provide the preventative treatments. Through high volume, this program offers substantial cost savings for residential ash tree owners along with other benefits.
Learn more about this program and how to participate.
The class is free. Space is limited, and RSVPs are required. This ensures that we have enough seats and materials.
