The fund was established by Brian Farrell, after his brother Terry Farrell was killed in the 9-11 attacks. The money raised stays in Colorado to help firefighters and their families. A PFA crew remains at the Elk Fire near Ben Delatour Scout Ranch as of Thursday morning. Battalion Chief Maccarini and Brush 12 were dispatched yesterday evening. The brush crew was assigned to ‘structure protection’, which included defending homes and later a road. PFA Engine 4 and Bureau-1 took advantage of a beautiful fall day and tested their fire hose. Engine company’s test thousands of feet of hose every year. This process is incredibly labor intensive and takes hours to complete. Each engine carries over 2700 feet of hose in different sizes and configurations. The crews today spent 5 hours testing hose and completed 1/3 of the hose on the engine. This testing

Poudre School District Fire Drills – Fire Prevention Week

On Wednesday, PFA and PSD completed the annual surprise fire drills they do during Fire Prevention Week. This year's theme - Not Every Hero Wears a Cape - Plan and Practice Your Escape, was a perfect fit. Thousands of students and teachers practiced quickly evacuating schools and ensuring each child was accounted for and in a safe location.
