On Monday afternoon PFA Engine 4, Tower 1, Safety 1, and Bureau 1 enjoyed the beautiful Fall weather while conducting Technical Rescue training in our local mountains. Rope Rescue is a highly technical skill that requires hours of training to stay safe and proficient. These rope systems built by PFA Firefighters are capable of lifting hundreds of pounds and moving patients hundreds of feet up a cliff face or the side of a tall building. Every year people become injured and/or trapped in these situations requiring our rescuers to utilize these skills. (JJG)
