We've got some big news! Governor Jared Polis has announced that with the acquisition of the Fisher’s Peak property, located outside the city of Trinidad, we are now working toward Colorado’s next state park.
Its diverse landscape of grasslands 🌾, forests 🌲, rugged mountain 🌄 and vast meadows, contains the iconic Fisher’s Peak, which towers over the property as a symbol for the city.
Before the property can formally become a state park, a master plan needs to be developed for land management. The project partners are working on developing that plan, which will involve substantial public input and ensure protection of the important habitat and natural features of this landscape while allowing for meaningful recreation experiences on the property. Stay tuned!
