September has been declared as National Preparedness Month by the Weld County Board of Commissioners. This month marks a time to remind residents to prepare for various types of disasters and emergencies in your homes, businesses, and communities.
“Being prepared for an emergency or disaster is something all residents should take very seriously,” said Commissioner Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer. “It’s important to know what disasters can happen here — snow storms, floods or tornadoes — to have a plan in place as well as an emergency kit, and to practice that plan. And make sure to include the whole family.”
